Hadar Ben Avraham

Hadar Ben Avraham currently conducts research in the evolving area of augmented reality and architecture, specifically its relation to design thinking.  She holds B.Arch. degree from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology where she also teaches architecture and design studios at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning. Hadar is a licensed Architect and Co-found of HA Studio Architecture. Her professional background includes S.O.M San Francisco, Moshe Tzur Architects, Moran Plamoni Architects and Baranowitz & Goldberg Architects.

Hadar’s research titled:
n-Visions – Towards a New Instrument of Perception in Architecture:
Augmented Reality and Physical Computing: Mediators between the Virtual and the Physical in Architecture

The research named n-Visions integrates augmented reality gaming technology, physical computing-based sensors, and architectural visualization to facilitate the design process throughout its various phases.
The research explores a novel real-time communication channel between the physical and virtual realities, fostering a new mode of perception of existing architectural environments through their informational conditions. This, in turn, enables the active exploration of the environment in real-time and within context towards possible design activity inherently associated with sustainable approaches.
